Rhythms

We use daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly rhythms to support getting work done and also to make sure there is always a space for talking or taking action on anything that might come up. This page outlines all of our regular meetings while our yearly meetings are outlined on the Member Meetings page.

Understanding meeting scope

Often times meetings will be drawn out by discussion on things outside of the meeting's scope. For instance at a daily stand-up a discussion might emerge about a challenge with a particular process, instead of talking about it in the moment—derailing the current meeting—the discussion can be tabled until the next Change Up meeting where such discussion points are within scope.

Daily Stand-up

The daily stand-up meeting is a space with a low entry barrier meant to set intentions, ask for support, celebrate achievement, and remind us to take care of ourselves.

  • When: Every morning Mon-Fri, see calendar for most up-to-date time.
  • Where: The Good Good Work Hangout
  • Scope: Intentions, reflections, and requests for the current day.

Meeting structure

Select a facilitator and start with a round of check-ins from there it’s a rapid fire go around, so everyone should come prepared with four pieces of information:

  • What I did yesterday;
  • What I'm doing today;
  • Any blocks that might stop me or requests for others; and
  • What I'm doing to look after my well being today.

If discussion points come up during the meeting they should be noted and saved for after the meeting closes.

Who's invited

This meeting is open to:

  • Invited guests.
  • Contributors/members.

Table pruning

  • Listening
    • Review new awarenesses, have those who brought them speak about them and keep focus on listening rather than solving. Give spacious time for an awareness to be spoken and for clarifying questions to be asked.
  • Solutions
    • Generate: If there is an awareness that needs a solution the group will generate ideas and the Facilitator will pick one to implement based off their sense of the meeting.
    • Review: Once new awarenesses are implemented, move through the board reviewing each solution in implemented and practicing.
      • Facilitator will either move the solution forward or back or keep it in place depending on their sense of the meeting.
  • Gratitudes
    • To close the meeting open the space for personal gratitudes.
